COSY HALL AND THE NEW MILLENNIUM

To celebrate the Millennium the Trustees of Cosy Hall, with the support of the National Lottery, planned a project that would show Newport, past and present.

This included:

1. An aerial photograph of Newport in taken in 2000 (to compliment the 3 other aerial photographs taken over five decades which hang in Cosy Hall)
2. A collection of photographs showing Newport’s Past
3. The provision of a gallery area for the use of local exhibitions.
4. A Millennium Embroidery showing the prime buildings of Newport.

1, 2 & 3 being completed and much enjoyed, the Millennium Embroidery was 1 year in the planning and 6 years in the making and is a piece of community artwork that Newport can be proud of.
